A dozen Yakima-area residents were recognized at the Daughters of the American Revolution state conference in Spokane earlier this month. Eisenhower High School's Paul Schafer won the state Outstanding Teacher of History Award.

Challenger Sports in conjunction with the Mesquite Soccer Association is planning a week-long British soccer camp during the week of Aug. 11 at Bruton Fields.
