Contracts for a nearly $206,000 study of air pollution on the Nipomo Mesa have been approved by the San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District.

A 22-foot (6.7-metre) diameter helium-filled balloon stands at Park Andre-Citroen in Paris May 15, 2008. Starting on Thursday night, laser beams will light up Paris' Air Pollution Balloon with a specific colour based on meteorological data, green (excellent air quality), orange (mediocre air quality), and red (poor air quality).
