As a Chicago Cubs enthusiast in his mid-20s, the one Midsummer Classic that I really cared about was the 2008 All-Star Game. This was the first season where I witnessed a team who was a legitimate World Series contender heading into July and throughout the regular season. The 2007 Cubs backed into the postseason with 85 victories in a weak division. The 2003 Cubs got hot at the right time.
