It certainly wasn’t as easy as many might have expected, but the Pipestone Area softball team improved to 21-0 on the season with a pair of victories to open the Section 3AA playoffs Tuesday afternoon in Pipestone.

LaVerne "Vern" M. Bridge was a man known to enjoy working in his yard and being seen around town in work boots, blue jeans, suspenders and a baseball cap.
