Highland students celebrate Arbor Day (Crookston Daily Times)

An Arbor Day celebration was held Friday for Highland fourth graders, beginning with a program at the school and tree planting at Highland Park. American Legion Post #20, West Polk County Soil and Water Conservation District, and the City of Crookston sponsored the events. Each student received a tree seedling to plant on their own.

Fifth-graders from Ethridge Elementary School celebrated Arbor Day on Friday by touring the trees of Stewart Creek Park as part of an overall effort by the city to spruce up environmental education. The program also formally launched the city's Adopt-A-Tree program.
