Murder rate doubles across Lower Mainland (Vancouver Province)

The murder rate in the Lower Mainland has doubled over the last year. And homicide investigators say the Abbotsford murder last week of Duane Harvey Meyer, 41, of Mission, is the latest example of someone linked to organized crime being targeted.

The Denver District Attorney is conducting an investigation of one of Colorado's biggest appliance retailers. The inquiry comes after one of the retailer's major suppliers accused the company of organized crime and racketeering practices that cheated consumers.
