On May 5, The Banning Mexican American Scholarship Association held a dinner event in the Banning High School multi-purpose room. The main speaker was Gerry Lopez, Deputy District Attorney with Riverside County. The master of ceremonies was Detective Douglas Monte of the Banning Police Department.

'Garcia Girls' is a long-overdue tale of discovery (San Diego Union-Tribune)

If you go to see “How the Garcia Girls Spent Their Summer” expecting a “Latina film,” you're in for a surprise. Although the protagonists are three generations of a Mexican-American family, director Georgina Garcia Riedel said she wanted to tell a story about being a woman in general, and especially a story about female sexuality.
