On May 5, The Banning Mexican American Scholarship Association held a dinner event in the Banning High School multi-purpose room. The main speaker was Gerry Lopez, Deputy District Attorney with Riverside County. The master of ceremonies was Detective Douglas Monte of the Banning Police Department.

If you go to see “How the Garcia Girls Spent Their Summer� expecting a “Latina film,� you're in for a surprise. Although the protagonists are three generations of a Mexican-American family, director Georgina Garcia Riedel said she wanted to tell a story about being a woman in general, and especially a story about female sexuality.
