Two local lawmakers voted against all 29 nonpreferred state spending bills early this month, although they all passed the House and Senate. The bills appropriate money to museums, colleges and universities, medical facilities and other organizations or institutions, requiring separate votes from the main budget bill. SPRINGFIELD - The Springfield Museums will offer six weeks of live performances, puppet shows, arts and crafts workshops, and hands-on science activities during "Summer Festival Days" from July 8 to Aug. 15.
