For Joe Pomerville, working with Global Positioning System satelites has opened a slew of new opportunities. "I make maps for construction sites, find gas and water lines for project managers and locate fire hydrants and light poles for buildings around campus," said the 2008 alumnus and temporary staffer at Central Michigan University's plant engineering and planning.
