British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has received a red carpet welcome upon his arrival in Israel. President Shimon Peres praised Brown for his record and philosophy and highlighted that the former British finance minister had "raised the British economy to unprecedented heights."

I know I'm in the minority here and I understand if someone accuses me of being crabby and old. And it's not as if I don't get it. I do get it. However, when I think of Billie Jean King, I don't think first of the "Battle of the Sexes," King's historic exhibition tennis match victory against Bobby Riggs at the Houston Astrodome, played out before a national-television audience on Sept. 20, 1973.
