KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 30 (Bernama) -- The abolishment of import duty on fertilizers and pesticides, as announced in the 2009 Budget, will contribute towards higher productivity at the farm and lower the price of agriculture products, says University Malaya Faculty of Economics & Administration Prof Dr Pazim Fadzim Othman.

Agriculture futures traded mixed Friday on the Chicago Board of Trade. Wheat for September delivery fell 9.75 cents to $8.0125 a bushel; December corn fell 2.75 cents to $5.85 a bushel; December oats rose 2.25 cents to $3.6225 a bushel; November soybeans traded flat at $13.24 a bushel.
