Report on the 1st Collaborative Information Retrieval Workshop (D-Lib Magazine)

The 1st Workshop on Collaborative Information Retrieval was held on June 20, 2008, in conjunction with the Joint Conference on Digital Libraries (JCDL) 2008. The principal organizers of the workshop were: Dr. Jeremy Pickens (FXPAL), Dr. Gene Golovchinsky (FXPAL) and Dr. Meredith Ringel Morris (Microsoft Research).

The West Charleston Library has computer stations for adults separate from those used by children, but the computer screens still can be easily seen by passers-by.

A recent Google acquisition of DoubleClick for a whopping USD 3.1 billion has turned many heads. The recent past certainly does not fit into Google's traditional non-aggressive attitude towards acquisitions for monopoly in the market.
