For kids, the Sixth Annual Boothbay Boat Builders Festival, sponsored by Boothbay Region Land Trust, Sunday, Aug. 3 in East Boothbay, has lots of everything.

The 69 narrow steps to the top of the lighthouse are worth the effort. Visitors are treated to a 360-degree view of Fairport Harbor, making this familiar village look brand new. The wraparound balcony makes the panoramic view of Lake Erie postcard worthy.
