Today is Joseph M. Cerfus Day in Snohomish County in honor of a Marysville soldier who died serving his country. As another mark of respect, flags are flying at half-staff at state agency buildings by order of Gov. Chris Gregoire. The County Council declared today to remember Cerfus.

Flags at all state office buildings will remain at half-staff to honor two more Fort Campbell soldiers who died Friday in the Middle East, Gov. Steve Beshear's office announced.
