HERNANDO — Opening day for the new baseball and softball season at the Hernando Civic Center ballfields is less than a week away and the Hernando Lions Club is getting in the swing of things by asking the public for help in outfitting youngsters in need.

Waikanae farmland protected as Recreation Reserve

A 60 hectare farm block south of Waikanae could become one of the region’s pre-eminent reserves.
