Le a bird dog pointing a covey of quail, the belted kingfisher knew right where the fish were holding. The blue-white bird with the dagger-like bill perched on a limb overhanging a spot where the current in the South Llano River shoved against a steep bank and slowed after tumbling and racing over a shallow, cobblestone run.
