SARATOGA SPRINGS — The state parks system is giving visitors a chance to win prizes in a new outdoor activity called geocaching, in which participants use a GPS and other mobile devices to find hidden containers.

Geocaching open to NY residents Memorial Day to Veteran’s Day

New York residents will have the opportunity to participate in a geocaching event between Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day. According to the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, the Saratoga/Capital District Region of New York State Parks will host 44 new geocaches in 11 state parks and historic sites.
