CAPE MAY - A Philadelphia bird-watching club took first place this weekend in the 25th annual World Series of Birding, clocking in 229 different bird species out of a possible 271.

How important are migratory birds? Important enough they rate two migratory bird festivals. The first of the two, the ninth annual Klamath Falls International Migratory Bird Day Festival, is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Veterans Park, part of the Klamath Basin Birding Trail.
