BARABOO -- If it weren't for the water at the whooping crane exhibit at the International Crane Foundation, visitors would possibly be in danger. The cranes have tried to approach and threaten visitors just a few feet away at the open-air enclosure. But as it is, both birds and people are safe. The small pond in front of the seating area is too deep for the cranes to get close to the onlookers. ...
