Kohilan wins, makes Gerakan history (The Star)

SUNGAI BULOH: Senator A. Kohilan Pillay created Gerakan history when he became the first non-Chinese to win the Selangor state chief post. Kohilan, 41, garnered 187 votes while his opponent Datuk Lum Weng Keong managed 175 votes in Sunday's polls.

Talk on salt history slated for today moves to Oct. 5 (The Post-Standard)

A scheduled lecture today at the Onondaga Historical Association has been moved to 2 p.m. Oct. 5 in the OHA museum. Dennis Connors, OHA curator of history, said William Meyer, of Colgate University, had been scheduled to speak today at the opening lecture of a series on salt production in Syracuse.
