Duke Energy and Progress Energy are reporting upwards of 7,000 customers are without power after the first line of a storm front rolled through the Triangle.

A tornado has touched down north of Airdrie, Environment Canada is reporting. The twister touched down about 4:40 p.m., about 5 km north of Airdrie. The storm is moving east about 40 km/h.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - Farmers in southern New Mexico are reporting healthy green chili crops as harvest time nears. Hatch farmer Jo Lytle says she and her husband haven't had any problems with the weather. But the forecast for the crop wasn't as bright earlier in the season.
