The Diabetes Association Inc., 170 Pleasant St., has hired an Hispanic outreach worker to serve the Latino-American community of Greater Fall River.

Barack Obama and John McCain have both released television advertisements in Spanish. Hispanics make up big parts of the population in several key swing states, and the ads are just one sign that the campaigns are taking them seriously.
