Cross Island Y camp gets honor (Queens Courier)

It’s summer camp season and for the fifth year in a row, the Cross Island YMCA is running The Lisa Beth Gerstman YMCA Summer Day Camp program which serves children with physical disabilities, in addition to its regular summer camp for ages three to 17.

Camp Korey, a weeklong camp for children with serious illnesses and disabilities, is opening for its first session July 21. The Washington Wines Festival, taking place July 11-13, boasts Grammy-winning entertainers to benefit the camp.
