On the top floor of Reynolda Hall, where few students regularly tread, the Wake Forest Humanities Institute is situated in spacious offices. Launched in the fall of 2010 with the mission of enhancing collaboration and ties between scholars, the Humanities Institute has begun to broaden its gaze.

The university application figures released last week showed not only a decline in applications overall, but also that there are far fewer would-be students applying for arts, humanities and social sciences degrees. With the rise in tuition fees, it’s completely understandable that young people might see a more direct route to employment through vocationally targeted courses.

Gospel Choir workshops and celebrations to be held next week

In recognition of Black History Month, observed in February around the country, The Juneau Arts and Humanities Council will present a Gospel Choir workshop, at the Juneau Arts and Culture Center next week, as well as two celebrations featuring workshop participants.
