LUMBERTON — Southeastern Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Services Department treated more than 71,000 patients from Oct. 1, 2006, to Sept. 30, 2007, making it the 15th busiest emergency department in North Carolina. Along with 71,000 patients and emergency situations comes flared tempers, anger and high emotions on the part of patients, family and visitors.
