Macomb County news briefs: Shelter looks to reduce euthanasia (Detroit Free Press)

Macomb County Animal Shelter officials plan to continue seeking input from animal rescue groups in the next six months to strategize ways to lower the shelter's euthanasia rate. The decision to keep up the monthly sessions that began six months ago was made last week during a Health Services Committee meeting.

Outside the Clovis Animal Shelter I was greeted by Clovis police Capt. Ron Hutchison and Animal Control Officers Larry Rogers and Marty Martinez. Clad in black coveralls and wearing blue latex gloves, Rogers and Martinez were starting their morning cleaning ritual, Hutchison said.
