KUALA LUMPUR - INDONESIA revealed plans on Monday to set aside 10,000 square km for rice to boost output of the grain as countries around the region struggled to stock up on the food staple on fears of a global supply squeeze.

MUMBAI (Thomson Financial) - India's Jindal Stainless Ltd. and Indonesia-based diversified mining and metals company PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam) have formed a joint venture to develop a nickel smelting and stainless steel facility in Indonesia.

A fire ripped through a Buddhist temple in Indonesia's North Sumatra province at the weekend, killing seven people and injuring eight, police said.
