May 12 (Bloomberg) -- Pro-European Union parties in Serbia held a surprise lead after yesterday's parliamentary elections, partial results showed, increasing chances the Balkan nation will move closer to EU membership.

Nope, nobody did: Croatia's Hrvoje Miholjevic is the winner of the 46th Giro Ciclistico del Friuli Venezia Giulia. The 29-year-old of team Loborika managed to maintain his hold on the white jersey also in the fifth and closing leg, which finished into Pontebba with the Italian Alan Marangoni (Fausto Coppi Gazzera) as stage winner.
