Campaign finance, small-scale and big-time Way back in the late 1970s, when I was a political science major in college, one of my professors – a world-wandering fellow who had settled in the U.S. after growing up in Soviet-controlled Latvia – told his classes a number of things that have stuck with me for more than three decades.
