The non-fiction film has become such an exciting genre abroad — and so viable at the box office — that I can only hope its popularity and success is replicated here. Except for Anand Patwardhan’s films, documentaries here haven’t found a larger audience, or even the audience they deserve.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - A film production arm recently set up by the government of Abu Dhabi said on Saturday it is teaming with National Geographic to make movies.
