Many of my friends are college and university presidents, past and present, and our conversations almost always delve into the state of athletics. These individuals are, without question, enlightened men and women who admit that the so-called arms race is not subsiding, not by a long shot.

CLINTON, N.Y. - New York State Senator Joseph Griffo and Assemblyman David Townsend announced that Hamilton College will receive $671,141 from the New York State Dormitory Authority for the purchase and installation of equipment at the Kirner-Johnson Building .

Marisa Murdock can't take the underwater photography course she signed up for this semester - and it's because she's a student at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. SUNY-ESF announced Aug. 20 that state budget cuts of up to 10 percent forced the college to restrict its students from taking some elective courses through Syracuse University.
