Assault — Tahra Amber Haner, 22, of the 700 block of Dakota Avenue, Medford. Medford police Saturday arrested Haner on charges of fourth-degree felony assault and fourth-degree assault. She was lodged in the Jackson County Jail on $9,000 bail.

Vale Womelsdorf wields the hammer that fell on Lone Pine Elementary School Saturday to make way for a bigger, better model. Lone Pine was built in 1926 with only four classrooms. It replaced a school built there in 1887, then known as the Red Top School for the color of its roof.
