Green Bag Program in Modesto gives needy seniors nutrition boost

Fresh fruit and veggies were the stars Wednesday at the Modesto Senior Citizens Center. About 60 seniors turned out for a half-hour presentation on eating right and exercise, and they each were rewarded with an approximately 10-pound bag of oranges, broccoli and red potatoes.
